چکیده

Abstract The presence of a tooth-surface defect, such as non-carious cervical lesion (NCCL), associated with sites gingival recession (GR) defects creates combined soft tissue/tooth defect (CD) that requires different treatment plan. This study aimed to critically review the literature regarding available protocols for CDs and suggest new decision-making process. NCCLs were classified Class A-: cementoenamel junction (CEJ) was visible root surface discrepancy 0.5 mm (with step); B-: unidentifiable CEJ without step; B+: step. affecting both crown surfaces (Class B) lead destruction consequently eliminate an important landmark used before after coverage procedures. depth is vital owing its possible impact on tissue adaptation healing, which, in turn, may influence options, namely use graft and/or composites compensate discrepancy. Clinically, step horizontal greater than should be recognized minimum threshold value define this condition. Extremely deep tend assume V-shaped topography. Therefore, extremely into subclasses A+V, B+V, loss CEJ, management considerations. supported by literature, process deal each condition are presented.

A combined approach to non-carious cervical lesions associated with gingival recession

Non-carious cervical lesions (NCCLs) with gingival recession require specific consideration on both aspects of hard and soft tissue lesion. In the restorative aspect, careful finishing and polishing of the restorations prior to mucogingival surgery is the critical factor contributing to success. Regarding surgery, assessment of the configuration of the lesion and the choice of surgical techniqu...

Treatment of Gingival Recession Associated with Non-Carious Cervical Lesions Using Resin Modified Glass Ionomer Cement with Connective Tissue Graft a Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial

Introduction: Gingival recession (GR) is a common aesthetic problem associated with the cervical wear of the tooth structure and dentin hypersensitivity. Recently, periodontal-restorative approaches have been proposed for the management of GR associated with non-carious cervical lesions (NCCLs), which has proven effective. The present study aimed to evaluate this method.  <stro...

No carious cervical lesions: abfraction.

Abfraction or Theory of Abfraction is a theory explaining the non-carious cervical lesions (NCCL). It suggests that they are caused by flexural forces, usually from cyclic loading; the enamel, especially at the cementoenamel junction (CEJ), undergoes this pattern of destruction by separating the enamel rods. Clinical aspect importance of these ineart lesions are at most important to be detected...

Assessment of non-carious root surface defects in areas of gingival recession: A descriptive study

BACKGROUND The purpose of this descriptive study was to observe the distribution of four different classes of non-carious cervical root surface discrepancies in teeth with gingival recession. Additionally to explore the different treatment modalities in the literature for each of these defects. MATERIAL AND METHODS A total of 150 subjects with at least one labial gingival recession were inclu...
